Lokia and Freyja 2008I have had a Herrenstolz kid since July of 2006. My first one was Freyja and she is now almost 3 years. It seems just like yesterday that I took her home. She was probably one of the rarest of puppies. She preferred to nibble on me instead of my shoes and furniture. She thinks that everyone that come to the house is there for her. She greets them at the door and follows them around the house and is there to say good bye. She loves everyone, except the person that tried to break into the house when she was 6 months. Knowing her she probably ran back there after they had just broke the window and asked if they came to play. One other thing Freyja loves TV. I really think that she know what is going on. She seems to bark at all the bad guys.I acquired Lokia in October of 2007. She is the complete opposite of Freyja as a pup. She was into everything. However, she has never even given me a nip. Lokia doesn't seem to care much about TV. However, if there is another dog or something interesting on. She goes and gets Freyja. Both of my girls were the last of their litters. I think I got the pick of their litters. Though they do not have the same mother or father. Most folks think that they are sisters. Once you get one of the Herrenstolz German Shepherds. You just can't stop there. You have to have at least two. Unless you have a lot of kids.Jaems Thomsen January 2009
Marley 9 months December 2008
Hello again-
We just wanted to thank you again for the wonderful addition to our family, Marley. She has been a great dog, and we couldn't imagine a life without her, as I even take her to work with me everyday. She is a loyal companion who loves to play fetch and swim... she REALLY likes to fetch.
We would also love to get Marley a buddy to play with in the future, but we were hoping to get a male from Mari, as we love how Marley turned out.Craig Hartman

You may or may not remember me but I have one of your wonderful dogs. I named him Gustav, I call him just 'Gus'... when I got him I was living in South Dakota, you shipped him to me and it was such a happy day. He has got to be one of the most wonderful dogs I have ever had. Sadly he is getting old, this is his 12th year. He has given me such joy, he has the sweetest personality, very loving and kind. I'm sure he could have been an excellent guard dog or property patrol, but his soul purpose is love....I love him dearly and he is my first GS. I now know that I would not be happy with any other kind of dog. He has spoiled me and I cannot bear the thought of his not being around. He has never been a problem even when a puppy, he never chewed things up, never shredded his toys, never was a cry baby, he is strong and noble. I look forward to having another GS and it is because of your love and thoughtful breeding, I will be getting another one from you soon. Thank you,
EleanorBeverly Swift Pony 23 Jan 09

Dearest Eleanor,Do I hear Bend is becoming an adoption center for your wonderful puppies?! If so, it is all due to Annabelle, the sweetest dog I have ever had. She is a wonder and a great ambassador for German Shepherds. We love her so much and celebrated her 3rd birthday, July 10th, by taking her swimming. She is an avid, skillful swimmer!Loretta Slipikas 20 Aug 09

Hansel
Hansel born April 2009
Hansel is such a special dog.
The day we brought him home it was
as if he had been here before.
The first night before we took out to
his kennel he went to the door to let
us know he had to go \"potty\" we never
had to house break him! On the second day
we let him wander around the yard with
us(2.5 acres) He seemed to know the
boundaries and he never wandered out
of eye contact and he constantly checked on
us always picking high ground for
observation. What an exceptional shepherd.
It seems as our old German Shepherd
\"Gretel\" that we put down after 13 1/2
wonderful years has been guiding
him from afar. Thank you for such an
exceptional and wonderful Shepherd!Joe and Colleen Steiner

Eleanor,If I was asked to define your dogs in one word, the word would be "quality." Timber was a handful, but most of the problems I experienced were caused by me, not her. Without a doubt, she was the smartest dog I ever bonded with. Once we figured each other out, everything came together. The only problem that Timber had was chronic ear problems, but the Vet told me that it's all in how the shepherd's ear canal is laid out. He said that it was common in that breed. She experienced some hip problems, but once again, my fault, she got too fat.Timing is everything. If I reserved one of Jamie's puppies, the roads would not be clear and I would have to pay you to keep the dog until Spring. I take care of my Mother who is 88 years old and my trips to Oregon, or anywhere for that matter, have to be well planned out. I would be better off to go with the next litter due in February. Unless of course we can make some sort of arrangement. For example if there is a pup left over from Jamie, that's okay too. Timber was the last of a litter. Do you remember, she was packing rocks in her mouth?I believe I want another female.Let me know what your terms are, what you want to reserve a pup and I will send you money till it's paid up. I think your prices are very reasonable for the kind of dog this is. After 11 years with Timber, I can say that without hesitation.I like your web site. You did a nice job with it. Watching the dogs run to the swimming hole reminded me of the last time I was at your house and knocked on the door. My God, I was not expecting what came around the corner of the house. I wasn't sure If I should climb the nearest tree. Do you know, everyone of them was nice.I'm glad you are still doing this, I was hoping that you hadn't retired. Thanks, Eleanor, for me, finding you, was a very lucky find.Mark
